I suppose there&#039;s a difference between not being an unempathic ass (is swearing allowed on this blog?) and wanting to &quot;talk about feelings&quot; all the time. Sometimes you need to be a jerk to get business done, but the key word there is sometimes. A hostile boss leads to a hostile work environment.

I think China has enough issues of its own that it&#039;s economy may not be as strong in the near to semi-distant future. A lot of unrest over there, it&#039;s only a matter of time before that begins to affect it&#039;s economy. 

That said, given that the advice ultimately is to strike a balance, it&#039;s not so much &quot;insensitivity training&quot; as &quot;act like a decent (not a great) human being&quot; But, that doesn&#039;t convince people to buy books.</description>
