You Mean You Didn’t Just Make That Up?
Part 1: Orientation

Perhaps the easiest scene to write in Bias Incident: The World’s Most Politically Incorrect Novel was the one in which our narrator Jeff attends orientation.

In my research for the book, I came across the below video. Using it as a guide, the scene practically wrote itself. The video, entitled “Think What We Think…Or Else: Thought Control on the American Campus” is shocking.

After writing the scene, I began to edit. The chapter began looking cartoonish and unrealistic. My editor had the same impression of the scene.

The funny thing is this: Orientation at my fictional Tinsley College was less manipulative than a real orientation at a real college. Yet my writing seems over-the-top.

But that is what the left is doing on college campuses.

Satire is dead.
